The Art of Muscle Testing

The Art of Muscle Testing

Muscle Testing originated in Applied Kinesiology. Kinesi – a movement Ology – a science or branch of learning Kinesiology – The study of the movement of the body. In the early 60’s an American chiropractor, Dr. George Goodheart, discovered that muscle testing could determine the state of acupuncture meridians and therefore the energetic condition of the body. This method could determine whether a given muscle group was functioning normally. As this technique could determine physical trauma, it was felt that it could possibly determine emotional trauma.  And it did with 80% accuracy and it continues to do so. Your being contains all of your information, like your own personal hard drive. Muscle testing allows a practitioner to access your information. Your information rather than someone’s opinion. Muscle testing takes you to the source. Where it all began. It allows you to know how ready you are to move forward, what may be blocking you. You can determine which supplements are beneficial to you and how much would be best for you to take and on and on.  Thirty years ago, in the late 80’s, my chiropractor and my family doctor were both using Muscle Testing to access information and to ensure that any manipulation had indeed taken effect.  I decided I wanted to learn how to do what they were doing. My doctor, gave me the name of another practitioner and she sat me down and instructed me on what I needed to read and what courses I needed to take.  I said, “Yes” and away I went. Dr. Goodheart was doing this in the 60’s, I began using...
Well, Mercury, Is In Retrograde (I’m just saying)

Well, Mercury, Is In Retrograde (I’m just saying)

This subject was not my plan for today. But… something happened and here it is. Yesterday I was in my iCloud account — why I have no idea, I hardly ever go there. Some evil energy descended on me. A weird message came up and prompted me to change my password. I did. From there I went to hell in a hand basket. I went into my files and everything was gone. I mean everything. Yes, I back-up but this was bigger than having backup. I knew that Mercury was in Retrograde, so I couldn’t validate a ‘hissy fit’ complete with crying out, “It’s not fair!!” I knew to take a breath and step away from my computer. I showered, dressed, made my bed and then completed with the applying of lipstick. I simply don’t do much without my ‘lips’ on. Poured myself a glass of water and kept breathing. Deeply. Then on to Apple Care, tech support, I went. My first support person did a few “Oh my God’s” to herself, but with her outside voice so I was privy to her bad news vibe. Next I was on hold for a senior supervisor. Cut to the chase, all worked out. In the past, I would not have asked myself to choose calm over, crazy. Mercury Retrograde, like any negative influence in your life, can take you down or take you forward. I’ve bonded with Merc so I tend to take the high road and trust in patience, timing, being flexible and placing things on hold and going on to something else. Chanting, “All works out” is always...
Intention

Intention

In the 1999 film, The Name of The Game, the character Bill Chapel, stands on the pitchers mound and before he throws the first pitch, inside he announces to himself, “Clear the Mechanism.” Everything inside him goes silent, he is absent of distraction, he is present and he is ready. Shen Yun, which translates as, “The beauty of divine beings dancing,” is a performing arts company of classical Chinese dance. They are of the Falun Gong spiritual discipline. Before they perform they exercise and then they meditate, aligning to who they are and what they are about to share. A woman stands before an audience at a Slam Poetry event to share her work. She is indigenous and before she recites her poem, she sings in her native tongue, centring, grounding, connecting to her truth. Your intention, why are you doing what you have decided to do, what is your purpose, your goal. When you make that decision and know why you are where you are and what you hope to achieve, gain or accomplish, it is beneficial to align to your intention, to be present with your choice, be in synch, focused, grounded. Often we run from on event to another, with the sole intention of just getting there and getting through with no thought as to why we are truly there. We may have had an idea at the initial choice, but somewhere it slips from us and we find ourselves merely going through the motions till it is complete and we are on to the next entry in our day. Think about when you are in...
I’ll Pass

I’ll Pass

January 21st I posted the Vision Circle.  Perhaps you ventured to begin your new vision and if so by now you are starting to attract. Life has come knocking at your door with options. Notice that I say options. We get excited when Life sends us what we have been envisioning. We jump up and down like we won the lottery, giggling like a crazy person, “It works, it works!!” Life is watching and nodding, “We’ve got ourselves another rookie.” We jump, we grab, we plunge into a new reality, without taking a moment to check that what we have attracted is what we had actually written down, we wanted to create. The New Job: No more than a 20 minute drive. $25.00 per hour. You take an interview and they offer you the position. It’s a 30 minute drive, at $20.00 per hour, with the dialogue that in three months they will review and then consider an increase. The increase is not promised, there is nothing in writing. But you got offered the job. Yippee!! You tell yourself that the extra 20 minutes in driving will be okay, you’ll figure it out. $5.00 less per hour – well they said they’d look at it again in three months. You say yes. Life, replies, “Okay, off you go. Maybe next time you’ll value your worth.”    All you have to do is say, “I’ll Pass.” Life goes, “Well done” and out your desire goes into the ethers to locate what you truly want. Perhaps you get a little more negotiating savvy and edit your plan to $30.00 per hour, knowing...
Money Wisdom

Money Wisdom

Ming’s Money Magnet “Sharon – I have something to share with you.” “I got tired of always fretting about whether I had enough money with me. The more you fret, the faster it goes you know. Your wallet just empties out and you could have sworn you still had another twenty dollars in there and no, it’s already gone. You spend it, you lose it, somebody needs it.” “I decided I needed a Money Magnet. Every loonie I got, I would keep in my purse, wouldn’t spend it. That way there would be money in my purse at all times. Like attracts like. Money in the purse, attracts money to the purse – a money magnet. The money stays in my wallet longer, things I thought would cost more – I find for less. Now, I know I always have money with me.” “ But loonies are heavy and lugging around all that coin was hurting my back. So I converted it into a fifty dollar bill, much lighter and works just as well. Now, it doesn’t have to be a fifty, start with ten, twenty. Just keep it, don’t spend it. You’ll see, in no time at all your money will be sticking with you, rather than running from you.” Save a Little, Spend a Little, Share a Little Lloyd was our neighbour, three doors down. As he was in his eighties, my son and I, on occasion throughout the winter months, would anonymously shovel his drive and sidewalk and clean off his car.         Eventually he figured out who the snow fairies were and...

How To Breathe

Who hasn’t heard, “Just breathe!” or “Take a breath!” Telling you to slow down, calm down, take it easy, relax. It’s important to know how to breathe because breath is life. To breathe is to live. Now I’m alive. I’m in the land of the living. But I catch myself holding my breath.   I first became conscious of this in an aerobics class where the instructor pointed out that often when we are concentrating on doing something – like following her moves, we stop breathing. I do this. I stop breathing – when I’m eating, writing, driving. I catch myself and then I pause and I start to breathe. I’m so engaged in what I’m doing, I become disconnected with myself. My naturopath, Dr. Sarah Millar, encouraged me to take the time to ‘check in’ with myself’ and do some deep belly breathing. When I’m driving, stopped at a traffic light, standing in the line at the grocery store, at my desk. I began checking in, but I have to tell you, at first all I did was breathe, I didn’t get much further. I began to breathe more, but what I was checking into was not clicking with me. I could have stopped there and just went with the easy way out of, “This doesn’t work for me.” But, I knew better. I wasn’t getting anything because I was blocking. The more I asked myself throughout my day to take the time to breathe deeply from my belly, I got closer to me and I began to receive. The checking in began to communicate with me. I...
